Donor Privacy Policy

The Kindness Initiative values and respects the privacy of our donors. We will not sell, share or trade our donors’ names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations. This policy applies to all information received by the Kindness Initiative, both online and offline, as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.​

When you donate through the Kindness Initiative website (www.KindnessSD.org) or by mailing or presenting donation information to the Kindness Initiative office, you may be asked for such personal information as your name, postal and/or e-mail address, telephone number, and credit card details. This information is gathered for event registration, personal identification, donation management, and communications. It may also be used for record keeping, collecting feedback, marketing, statistical analysis of users’ behavior, and program development. Any personally identifiable information that you share with us is kept in strict confidence.

All demographic and other personal information which users voluntarily provide to The Kindness Initiative may be added to the Kindness Initiative’s databases and used for future contact regarding our organization, its loan program and upcoming events.​

Identifiable and non-identifiable user information and data may be disclosed or distributed to a third party pursuant to a subpoena, court order, or other form of legal process, in response to a request by or on behalf of any local, state, federal, or other government agency, department, or body, whether or not pursuant to a subpoena, court order, or other form of legal process, or if determined by the Kindness Initiative in its sole judgment that such disclosure or distribution is appropriate to protect the life, health, or property of the Kindness Initiative or any other person or entity.

The Kindness Initiative reserves the right at any time to modify, alter or update this Privacy Policy. It is the obligation of users visiting the website to learn of changes to the Privacy Policy since their last visit.
